Stichting "De Vaste Burcht"has been founded by Adri Tijman in 1980. The proclamation is, that Jesus Christ is the salvation of the universe and mankind, and the foundation of our faith; a power that impels us in our work. Although part of the regulations are out of date these days (aid to Christians and Christian organizations behind the iron curtain), there is enough left that can be done: Support to Christians or Christian organizations who suffer of persecution; who are - because of their faith - financially or socially in need; diaconal and pastoral aid, both spiritual and financial; distribution of Christian literature and other support material for the edification and distribution of the Gospel of Salvation.
Of course these examples are not exhaustive but they may give you an impression of our aims.
The organization has only limited resources, both financial and in man power. "De Vaste Burcht"is a private

foundation which means, that there are only a few outside supporters. From them we get help for the Children's home "The Mighty Fortress", and the leprosy camp, both in India. For more details see our "India" page.
The foundation has been recognized and registered by the Dutch fiscal authorities under the fiscal capital transfer act, article 24.
Our foundation strives for a balance between once-only and longer lasting projects. The problem is, that with the progress of years some of the once-only projects changed gradually to longer lasting projects, reason we have less room for incidental support.
Some of the bigger projects we started ourselves, like Nigeria (Since 1986) and India (1999); some we do in cooperation with other organizations, like the Malawi and Mozambique project.
Our organization consists of a board with three members. The daily work is excecuted by the secretary.
